If you know me you know I love Lil Boat and this article will be incredibly biased. But now that that’s out of the way I am still confused as to why Yachty has so many haters. Is it how he acts? I mean I guess you can hate someone who just randomlygives out sandwiches to fans at a 21 Savage Concert. Is it how he dresses, ok far enough, everyone has different styles, but what other rapper single handedly brought back a brand. So we’re left with his music. When I hear people’s reasons for why they don’t bang with Boat (because I ask everyone), they often reference songs like Minnesota or 1 Night. What do both of these songs and many other popular Yachty songs have In common? He’s rapping slow, even singing, or doing whatever it is he does on those tracks. I agree with people in that sense, those songs are sometimes hard to listen to. But when you dig deeper into his discography, you find literal heat. Fast paced bars mixed with hard hitting production. Here are 10 songs (some verses) that will hopefully change your opinion on the guy.
10. Die By Myself 2 ft. KSupreme
One of the older songs between the good friend duo, this song features laid back rapping with some sneaky lyrics and a all so boat flow.
9. 2 A.M. Lil Yachty
Short and to the point. No elaboration needed, find it and play it.
8. Up Next 2 feat. Big Brutha Chubba & Byou
From his breakout tape, Yachty’s opening verse smacks you in the face then snatches your chain. After help Brutha Chubba and Byou, Yachty comes back with a PS.
7. Neck Shine Lil Yachty & 21 Savage
I played this song everyday for 2 months and tweeted Yachty’s entire verse over the course of 5 hours.
6. Up Next 3 Ft. Lil Herb (prod. By Chris Fresh)
The sequel to Up Next 2, Yachty only got better. And G Herbo went off as well, my god.
5. Like Wassup Feat. K$upreme & BIGBRUTHACHUBBA
This high-energy song is pure crank, be careful where you play this one. Riots may start.
4. Mase in ’97 – Carnage ft. Lil Yachty
Yachty’s opening on this one has to solidify him as a rapper who can switch up flows. He raps so fast I the last verse still hasn’t hit me.
3. What (Remix) Chris Fresh ft. Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Madeintyo & UnoTheActivist
A short verse due to the firepower of the features but Yachty definitely holds his own. I mean you have to like somebody who’s rapping on this one.
2. Hasselhoff – Lil Yachty
A late addition off of Mike Will Made It’s Ransom 2, Hasselhoff is also liable to incite riots.
